The Competition

I see VW has not posted her weight. She's on vacation. El Lam-O excuse! Bah!. I will say, I lost 1 pound. I’m now down 4.5 lbs. 128.5.

Amy has jumped on board and she posts her weight on Mondays.

Even though she's not posting it, inches are peeling off of blogdaughter Sissy as she has fully embraced working out at Curves!

I’m not sweating it being ‘just 1’. First, it is healthier to lose it slow… unless you’re doing what Aris Ravencroft is doing and joining the Marines… then it just peels off… whether you want it to or not.

Second, I’m regaining the muscle I lost over the last few months, so I’m gaining muscle and it is displacing fat. I can feel it. My abs are tighter, my legs are more toned, I look leaner. My clothes that were getting just too tight, are now just snug.

Third, I have too many other things to sweat… losing 1 lb as opposed to 2… if I were to worry about that, I am pathetic and need a life.

However, I still fully intend to kick VW and Amy's butts in this contest. Fully. *Grin* Aris doesn't count... the Marines will give him a distinct advantage in a couple weeks. The man/boy will be lean and fit. Nope... I don't compete with the United States Marine Corps!

I'm not doing it for the competition, I'm doing it for the accountability and motivation.

Okay, I told Morrigan I might jump on this competition with you guys but I just want to comment. I started my diet and workout 10 days ago. I have 35 pounds to loose but would like to loose 40 if possible. I'm working out Monday - Friday (cardio and weights) and am on a low carb (not no carb) diet. Have cut out all bread, rice, potatoes (basically all starches and anything fried). I've cut out alcohol during the week but am indulging in a few beers over the weekend (give me something to look forward to). I lost 2 pounds last week but like Bou have definetly gained a lot of muscle. I'm German so if I'm not careful I will end up looking like Helga the German weight lifter ;) Your posts have inspired me (especially Sissy) so I will keep up with you and let you know how I'm doing in the comments ;) PS: I've been told that if you have over 10 lbs. to loose that you shouldn't even start looking at your scale until your 2 months into it. Evidentally you gain a lot of water weight during the first few weeks. Keep up the good work(out) everybody!!

Napster has been watching Oprah again! My mom called the other day saying she saw on Oprah you should only be weighing every 2 months. :-P
