Who Put Hemp in my Lollipop?

I read this article today on MSN and was laughing my butt off.

I’m going to confess something that some of y’all are not going to believe. I have never in my life smoked pot. Nope. I’ve never even seen it up close and personal. Never seen it in a bag, rolled in a cigarette, lying out on a table, or baked in a brownie. I’ve smelled it, at various public venues like… concerts, but that’s the extent of my exposure. It's always been far far away and it always smelled like stinky armpits to me.

I’ve also never smoked a cigarette before, never even had one touch my lips.

That said, I thought for sure people smoked pot for the high it gives and not for the grassy taste. Pot lollipops? Wow. I’ve been so wrong for all these years. What was I thinking?

And for those of you in Boston and Boulder, the pot smoking capitals of the world, I’m sure you’ll be loving these as evidently it’s all about the taste and not the effect.

So are they going to make cigarette tasting lollipops next? I’m thinking I’ll pass on anything that tastes like an ashtray. Blech.

An older sibling thing? Same here! Smelled it and that's about it. And never smoked a cig. The thought of smoking anything is just nasty to me.

And the thought of it in a lollipop??? Eh!! Narsty!

I have never smoked anything, now have I used any illegal drugs, nor have I let a drop of alcohol pass by my lips.

No really....=)

Little Joe: I am forwarding your comment to the Vatican. You'll be hearing from them soon, I'm sure.
Seriously -- Congratulations on clean living!!

Well there are a lot of reasons that come into the fold as to why I have lived 'the clean life'. That's a post in itself I guess.

It was 1/3 intentional, 1/3 happenstance, and 1/3 environment.

Depending on the particular variety, there's a distinctive, spicy flavor to it. Think of the pot-pop as the equivalent of non-alcoholic beer.

As for cigarette-pops - they had nicotine lollies (billed as an alternative to gum or the patch), but there was the typical whining of "what are you teaching the children?", so they pulled them.

Don't worry Bou and Sis. I'm with you. Except I have seen it, seen people smoking it, and even had bong water dumped on my head. TALK ABOUT NASTY! One does not know my SIL without having seen it (she was the queen pothead in HS)

Did I mention my ex-pothead SIL and I don't really get along? And that she and I hated each other in HS?

I never inhaled...I swear...

Never smoked, saw, or otherwise had contact with pot except for smelling it in various venues. To me it smells like burnt rubber... which always made me wonder how anyone could actually smoke it...

Although when I was in college (the first time) I was out with some friends and a guy walked up to us to ask us if we had any "papers". My friends had to explain to me - he was looking for papers to roll his joints. And no we didn't have any of those either. *grin*

I've never smoked pot or cigarettes either. On my 19th birthday, friends took me to see 'For Your Eyes Only" at a theater in Oakland CA . People in the line were smoking pot, and I started wheezing from the smoke wafting by. My friends had just finished an EMT course and were discussing if they could do a tracheotomy on me if I stopped breathing [rolls eyes] They were very excited by the prospect!

Wow...someone believed my post...(snicker).

If you really want to know what pot smells like, burn some sage, it smells exactly the same.
