Drawing My Sword- An Open Letter

Dear Mr. Crook,

I saw your video from Fox News, where you had your backside handed to you by Hannity & Colmes. I have to say, I was at first speechless. I thought with the intro it surely had to be a joke. Nobody could really be that small minded and so public about it. I mean, really. But then I realized, I was watching THE NEWS and you were SERIOUS and the first thought that popped into my mind was, “Your Mom must be so proud…”

I pray every day that my sons don’t turn out to be inherently evil people, thinking society owes them something, hell bent on destroying themselves or society. I now add to that list… I pray they don’t turn out like you. Actually, I may put that at the top of my list. I pray they don’t turn out small minded, unappreciative, and stupid.

I find you and your views on the military and the men and women who fight for our country to be both despicable and revolting. You are not worthy to breathe the same air of any who have or continue to serve in uniform for this country.

I find it ironic that you seem to loathe those who fight for us… yet as they continue to sacrifice their lives for us, as did generations of men and women before them, you sit smugly with your freedom of speech, attempting to spout your derogatory drivel either not really comprehending or not caring that you are permitted to do so BECAUSE of these men and women.

If I were Queen, you would be banished from this land to live a life in the prisons of Cuba or the nastiest coldest dankest cells of the most hellish countries on this planet. But I am not Queen… as this is a democracy and you are free to speak your mind… thanks to the men and women you scorn.

You are disgusting. You are repugnant. You make my skin crawl. I will use your name in my household as the epitome of small minded, stupid, and unappreciative people in this country and I will use you as an example of the dregs of the Earth that my sons should shun and refrain from ever getting near.

I don’t know from where the rock came that you crawled out from under, but I wish you would return.

Michael Crook… a pox upon you and your ilk and may you rot. For eternity.

*looks at pile of chopped meat*

Not much left of Mr. Crook, here...

Bravo, Bou!

I certainly could not have put it better. And in my opinion, Michael Crook = Ted Kennedy = Harry Reid = Michael Moore. Therefore, all introspective, rational Americans should be repulsed by the attempts of the Democrat leadership to turn public opinion against our troops and their efforts to ensure safety and democracy in Iraq.

Now if we could just get this published in the news!

He's from California isn't he?

Seems to me that he is just trying to get attention and right now the sure fire way of getting attention is to malign the military.

He probably also thinks that communism and socialism was a good thing.

That pusbag is nothing more than a troll writ large.
The scumbag is just getting his rocks off seeing how many people he can piss off.

Hopefully someone finds him floating face down in a river somewhere soon.

I read a scary part of your post that worries me more than whatever that geek said. I've read similar things on other blogs, and I fear it's a trend:

You criticize someone for speaking their mind with 'freedom of speech," upset that they're using that freedom to trash those who fight for us and protect that right. I've seen the phrase "hide behind the First Amendment" elsewhere. And you say if it wasn't for the first amendment, you'd banish them to jail.

If so, you wouldn't be living in America, would you? That freedom is what makes this country great and people who use it, however disagreeably, shouldn't be attacked for speaking their minds and using that wonderful freedom that so very few people on this planet have.

If someone says something you don't like, by all means criticize their words, their accuracy, their motives and their ancestry, but PLEASE don't criticize them for using their First Amendment rights.

End of speech by a newspaper person. - George

I can criticize him because... it is my right to do so. Free speech and my first amendment rights. I can do so because... it is MY blog. I don't write for a newspaper. I don't have to be 'fair and unbalanced'. I can say whatever *I* want.

As I said, if I were Queen, he'd be banished, but I'm not... I am just a normal citizen in a democracy, hence he can say what he wants without retribution from me, the government, or anyone else.

And because he cheers the death of our military men... yes, he celebrates as each one dies... I will continue to be critical and vocal... as is my right under my first amnendment, that I think he is a snake and evil and revolting.

I can be as critical as I want... because of where I live...and I will continue to do so.

I'm NOT saying you shouldn't verbally attack the guy. And yes, it's your blog and you can say whatever you want and be as critical as you want.

I'm just saying in MY humble opinion, you should leave the First Amendment out of it. If this guy is the biggest flaming jackass on the planet, it's NOT because of freedom of speech.

In fact, it's GOOD that he crawled out from under his rock and spoke. That way, everyone can keep an eye on him. Sort of like with flag burners, now we know who our enemies are.....

My issue is that here he is liberally using his First Amendment and yet he is cheering on the death of those who fight for him to keep it.

He's a dumbass and should be a little more thankful about where he lives and who fights for his right to keep them. He can be as critical of the government as he wants, but to cheer on and count the deaths of American servicemen is beyond attrocious. People like him make me ill and I wish they lived in awful crappy little countries where they would be a bit more appreciative of not only what we have here, but WHO makes it possible for him to have it.

And... our pasts are much different, George. I am the daughter of a Vietnam Vet. I have NO TOLERANCE for assholes like this twerp.
