Frozen Rubber

I was cooking dinner this evening and opened my freezer. There in every possible square inch of empty space was stuffed… a small blown up balloon. There must be 8-10 balloons in my freezer, some filled with water, some with a couple tablespoons of water and some empty.

As I pull out the vegetables I yell over to them, “Yo. What’s the deal with the balloons in the freezer?” to which the reply came, “We want to see what happens to balloons when you throw them after they’ve been in the freezer.”

Wha??? What.would.possess.them.to.think.of.these.things? What?! I am thinking it is a y-chromosome issue, of which I will never understand.

I am so outnumbered in this house. Every day… it becomes a bit more apparent.

We're they planning on throwing them at each other?

I think... but I'm not sure. I didn't make it that far. I was only worried about getting dinner on the table.

Geez, I'm stupid. I guess I should ask that, shouldn't I? Nothing quite like letting them pelt each other with big bricks of ice.

Wow. Now I can't quit laughing. Holy crap. I swear Darwin's theory of the survival of the fittest is going to enact itself on my home... eliminating my boys from the gene pool. Heh.

Ouch! I'm thinking that would hurt.

The quest for scientific knowledge marches on :-)

It must be some kind of engineering gene.

I get it. And that scares me more than I can say. ;-)

I hope for your sake you don't live in a two-story house! I came home from work one day to find that the boys and my daughter had taken the mattresses off their beds and dragged them down the stairs so they could "parachute" with their sheets down the staircase. Thanks for reminding me of that! Your boys sound lke they're a hoot.

They're budding geniuses -- reusable ice ball ammo.
