Taste Buds... The First Thing to Go.

I think… I have… a Wasabi addiction. I’ve been eating a lot of Japanese lately and over the last few months, I have decided I like a few of their rolls. With Wasabi. It’s getting worse. I have actually been craving the Wasabi… the roll is just a method it get it to my body. What in the heck is my body lacking that I would crave Wasabi???

The first time I ate a roll, I put just a bit on. Hardly a speck.

The second time, a bit more. And it is getting worse. If I continue this trend of more and more, I’ll eventually get to the point where I just eat the entire green glob… and blow out my sinuses.

I can’t do hot Mexican peppers. I CANNOT STAND pickled ginger. Blech. But hot Szechwan style Chinese food with their little hot pepper sauce or Japanese food with Wasabi… I become, “More… please?” I think my taste buds are dying off. I am feeling certain…

Ziggy is the same way. He can't stand 'jalepeno hot'...doesn't really like spicy food, even. But, he looooves Wasabi.

Me? If I HAD to choose between a big gob of Wasabi or a branding iron to the tongue, I'd hafta choose the latter. heh At least the burning would stop sooner.

We need to start eating lunch together. I love wasabi. I even have some in my kitchen cabinet. Have all the tools to make my own suchi. Then again, maybe we shouldn't eat lunch together... our sinuses would never be the same!

I'm the same way about mint sauce with balsmic vinegar. I just eat it from the jar on it's own these days.

BTW, you might want to consider adding the word, "food" after "Japanese" in your second sentence.. although both the literal, and slang interpretations of what you wrote are both hilarious! Thank you :-D

Seems my grammar is also unintentially funny. I told you I was ill..

General Tso's chicken barely qualifies as tasty, let alone spicy.

I like ordering Szechwan dishes and telling them to make sure it's "Real" Szechwan and not the milder versions they pander to wussy white people.

They usually laugh... and come back with something they need haz-mat gloves to put on the table... then look at me in awe after I eat the whole thing :)

Sally- After I hit post, I saw the error I made in the Japanese and decided to keep it, just to see who would get me for it. I knew it would be one of a few people... you were on that list!

Guyk- Oh I love those peppers. But I prefer the pepper sauce.

Grau- I guess I'll have to do a post on that Chinese restaurant I worked in. Funny guys they were.
