I Love Fall

I hear fall is upon y'all. I say y'all because we're still strokin' out down here in the Pan of Florida at 90 degrees. That was 3PM. Hot. Blech.

So to all you wonderful people up north of me, where the temperatures are cooler during the day and cool and crisp at night... going to the Fall Festivals and celebrating all that is Fall, this is what you could do for me.

Eat something appley. Apple Fritter, Apple pancakes, Apple Pie, Apple tarts. Drink hot Apple cider. Apple stuff. It is fall.

Do fall things... and since I can't, you have my permission to do it twice. Once for you and once for me. Eat fall foods. Smell burning leaves. Have sex outside when its nice and cool and crisp. (Not in public. There are some decency laws you know...) Go hiking where the leaves are starting to change.

Do it all twice. You have my permission. Man, I miss fall. Even though we get the cool temperatures in January for one day, it just... doesn't... smell... the... same.

I'll soak some upstate NY fall in for y'all... & maybe I'll take some pics... though not of all the activities you mentioned, Bou! ;-)

I'm having homemade bread with homemade applebutter right this very second.

I'm planning on taking tons of pictures this fall - for YOU. We've talked often, the fall is the one thing I missed about up here. I'll share it with you!

I can tell it is cooling down-my electric bill was five bucks cheaper but that might have been because the power was out for an hour last month.

It is cooler her at night though-around 70F and it is comfortable. Reminds me of that song many years ago "Southern Nights".

I am with looks like fall,m due to the draught. However the hoter than Haddes temps keep throwing me for a loop.

Yummy apples, and cool nights, no $189 electric bill, my air conditioner has been running since April. The poor thing could stand a rest, as well as my pocketbook.

I heard on the local news that our autumn may last exactly two weekends due to the drought up here in IL. I feel very short changed, because this is my absolute favorite time of year.

Fall finally started here (OKC) today. It was wonderfully cool last night, and today's temps are only getting to a high of 83. BUT- in the next few days, our temps will drop to an average of 75 during the day. YEAH!

While we may not get the gorgeous fall leaf colors as the Northeast, we do have hay rides and bobbing for apples and even a Corn Maize. Yup- corn MAIZE. And when you are through going through the maze, you get to pick out a pumpkin.

I cannot think of a better time to be alive and enjoy all nature has to offer.

I'll even pick a pumpkin for you Bou!

Yeah, I'm thinking it's time to hint to The Wife that maybe she should use up the rest of the frozen pumpkin from last year and make some pumpkin cream cheese pies.....

As for me, I'm thinking I'm going to pitch the tent in the back yard and make beef stew and scotch eggs over a campfire this weekend.
