The Total Suckiness of Suckdom

GRRR. Looks like we're putting up all our shutters. Dammit.

What does that mean for you all? I'm taking pictures. That's right. You get a frickin' blow by blow. If I have to suffer through this you do too.

Who knows. Maybe you'll get a gratuitous shot of me in my running clothes. I'm sure as hell not showering after my morning run only to spend three hours hoisting aluminum shutters.

Damn. Did I remember to buy hornet spray? I'm the one on hornet/wasp patrol as they like to nest in the channels for our shutters. Note to self: stop by Publix for wasp/hornet spray after run.

And let me tell you what just adds to the overall suckiness of it all. I still don't have a/c. That's right. My a/c broke last week, I need a whole new unit, and it's been postponed due to Wilma. So now... I get to have aluminum... that would be metal that will absorb HEAT, all along my house and I can't open my windows.

Isn't that just totally suckalicious?

I'm over this.

I'm going running.

Pix tonight.

GRRRR.

Oh... and TGOO... if I lose power, you're on deck per the usual. That should give my readers something to shout about. It won't be 'Wow. Sucks to be Bou getting hit by a hurricane". Instead it'll be, "Whooo hooo! The Great Omnipotent One is posting!!!"

See, I knew I'd find a silver lining in there for my readers.

C'mon Wilma, darling, give me the keys to the blog....

I guess I'm in the "sucks to be Bou" camp...although since I live on the part of the Gulf Coast where we've been hit by FIVE or so storms in the last year, I've earned the right to wish the storm somewhere else and NOT feel guilty about it...LOL!! But y'all ARE in my prayers, Bou!!

Oh man, that *is* sucky. ::sigh:: I just hope that it goes fast and is over for you soon....

Dixie Darlin'- Honestly, I'd take a Cat 2 down here instead of taking it to Pcola any day. We've only been hit twice. Y'all have taken it on the chin enough. This makes #3 for us in 18 months.

I'm ready to move.

Richmond- It's dawdling and making me nuts!

TGOO- Yeah, I thought you'd be itchin' for the keys.

The waiting for it to hit part sucks tremendously!!!! You keep worrying about what all MIGHT happen. Just let the damn thing hit, so I can get to the business of recovery!!!

At least Jeb knows how to respond to a hurricane, and you know help will be there almost immediately. Y'all have sent a lot of help this way for Katrina/Rita...just let us know if you need anything in YOUR aftermath...but I'm still praying for y'all to get through it with as little mess as possible!

Posted by: DixieDarlin' at October 23, 2005 02:08 PM

I know!!! I'll pray for a tree to fall on JUST your a/c, or else just the a/c blows away...then maybe FEMA can get you a new one!!!

Being with an AC in S. Florida this time of year sucks. Hell, being without an AC in S. Florida any time of year sucks! I think I would be calling some friends and seeing if they had room for some sleeping bags tonight

You know, living in Tornado Alley as I do, especially in the path of the infamous and historical F5 twister from a few years ago, I would still rather be in a tornado than a hurricane!
We have less time (maybe a whole five minutes!) to prepare and/or escape (translation- HIDE) than those in the paths of hurricanes....but still....
I don't envy you Bou. We'll keep our fingers crossed here...

it does suck to be you. :( sucks to be us, too. we did the 3-hour hoisting today too.

y'all stay safe.

i keep seeing tornado warnings for Palm Bay, but Frank says they're little tornadoes, not huge like the Texas ones. i guess everything is bigger in Texas. except the hurricanes. this is my first, i'm not doing so great. i could use 2 bottles of wine about now. stinking Publix closes at 9.

it's perfectly calm here. i'm downing Clamato like it's going out of style.

Be safe...

I have some fall pics up for you, Bou. A million miles away from hurricanes... or at least several hundred...
