The ancient Boudicca was Queen of the Icene. The contemporary Boudicca has been designated as “queen of the hurricane supplies” by her three sons, the Rolling Ball of Noise. When last I talked to her they were into Vienna sausages. She reported that they have become connoisseurs of that snack food. Reportedly the Iberian chicken sausages in chicken broth suck wet socks, but they ate them anyway. The Libby’s sausages are delicious, even though they’re made from the unmentionable parts of various mammals. They consumed two cans of these delicacies. They’re looking forward to canned pears for dessert. Yum!

Posted by: vw bug at October 24, 2005 05:11 PMHer neighbor, whose kid's slide wiped out the well head, has also offered Boudicca's family the use of their shower. 'Course, it'll be a little cold.
You know, you expect people to take adequate precautions when they're expecting 110 knot winds through their neighborhood. Who in their right mind would leave that kind of crap out in the yard with a hurricane approaching? They only had a week to prepare. Duh.
Posted by: TGOO at October 24, 2005 05:24 PMsheesh. Glad to hear the Bug family is ok, too.
Posted by: caltechgirl at October 24, 2005 05:28 PMGlad to hear all are okay (you too VW!), and LOL on the eats. TGOO, you are being waaay too kind to the neighbors there.
Posted by: Laughing Wolf at October 24, 2005 06:23 PMGlad to hear you all made it through ok. Also glad to hear the boys are enjoying 'roughing it' a bit!
Posted by: Jen H at October 24, 2005 06:52 PMSo glad to hear that the Bou and VW households have come through okay.
A question about storm etiquette -- can they bill the neighbors for damage caused? Sheesh!
Thanks for the many updates TGOO...

Cheez Whiz in a can/jar spread over crackers topped with olives (salty enough to make you want to drink water when you're tired of drinking water)
candy mints dropped in bottles of water (Just when you start getting tired of drinking bottled water and start longing for ice, this gives your water a nice taste for a change of pace. This bit courtesy of a soldier/pen pal of mine in Iraq. Plz make sure they're dissolved before giving bottle to children)
PBJ on crackers with banana slices.
Parmalat or European Shelf milk with powdered Nestle's chocolate drink mix. It's a great change from water which kids love. Shelf milk is milk specially processed and vacuum packed that's sold in the dry goods section of your supermarket which you can keep for extended periods of time in cool dry places while unopened.
Libby Vienna Sausages w/crackers and olives.
Glad you're well!
