24

I won't be live blogging 24, but I do have my lap top and am watching it and IMing my sister.

Just some observations...

They did a good job making that Mr. Ally McBeal actor the new weasel in the White House. I hope he dies at the end of the season. He's a funny actor, but he does a good job playing a creep.

I love Buchanon. He's my favorite character.

Keifer Sutherland has lost some weight. He was never fat, but he is really lean now. Really lean. And I have to think it was natural and not because of the show, because if it was because of the show, he'd be SKINNY as he's been a prisoner for 2 years in China. Please. He'd be bones.

The question is... who dies this season?!! I'm thinking weasel boy (eventually), either Buchanon or Karen... and? I don't know. One more...

I thought it was a pretty bland episode.

I'm not thrilled with a hero who isn't sure of himself.

I don't like images of the US being blown up - even for drama and "art".

Given the usual "holy grail quest syndrome", I'm sure they will be chasing A, but need to go to B, but have to deal with C, which will require satisfying D. ....

At this rate, Heroes will win out...

I have really mixed feelings about this season too... This is the first time the US has come off as the real villain - which means that the terrorists are winning the real propaganda war. Not that the gov. has been a shining model of efficiency in any previous season, but the bungling and foul motives do not seem to be limited to a few ambitious individuals - the whole lot of 'em are bozos. Now even Jack is wimping out - and who's the hero of the night?

Surprise! The moderate terrorist!! Screw that crap... I'm not even sure I'm going to continue watching unless things change dramatically tomorrow night. Even the REDNECK character was a drooling, unarmed and witless schmuck! (What else?) At least HE had the right guy in his 'sights' - too bad those sights weren't of the iron variety.

I'm with Jon - I don't like seeing any 'dramatization' or portrayal of terrorist bombs going off on US soil... And worse yet, the demonization of any policy that would be effective against them - short of capitulation of course.

Pah!

Damn you! Meanwhile....I was IMing Morrigan with "what the hell was going on", "holy shit", "oh, I can't watch that". I think I only saw half the show because I had my head turned for the gross half!

But I am hooked now. Damn you both! :-P

That whole thing with Jack doesn't bother me. They still made him out to be superhuman... takes a stab in the shoulder but still has no problems holding his .45.

I told my sister at some point he'll get sick of how everyone treats him, always doubting him, and find a new job. I find that whole continual line of 'Jack's not right... Oh. Yes he is. Jack saves the say" a wee bit annoying.

ugh, i hate this show. and yet, i can't turn away.

dude, how many times did bauer take off his shirt in the first episode. only to seem somewhat embarrassed about his scar tissue circus back there? i got sick of that quick

yeah, they have the cliffhanger mastered, but what else?

Well Jack is definitely super human. Look at how he had no problems holding that gun at face level after taking a knife in the shoulder. That and an ice pick in the back. Always cracks me up...

And he'd have a sunk in face and dark circles under his eyes and would weigh about 80 lbs if he'd been in a Chinese prison. One of the characters alluded him to him not looking good... so I guess we're supposed to pretend. :)

OH and my take is that kid Scott will die tonight and that will jumpstart Jack into wanting to get involved again and not doubting himself.

Oooh, I think that the shaggy-haired kid will die, probably soon. Weasel will have to go, too. Jack may die this season, but my husband doesn't think so. :-)

Buchanon and Karen are engaged? WTF? C'mon Bou. Everyone knows that Chloe is my favorite character. Gotta be some tension with her ex working for CTU. Since I only got back from Aspen at 8:00 this morning and I had to go drinking wine tonight, I've only seen the first hour. Had the foresight to record it. Thank you Dish Network!

Having watched all four hours, I can say I don't think I'll be watching again. I'm not happy with what they've done. Why kill off so many good characters? It doesn't make sense. Mebbe he had something else going on and wanted off the show. But they didn't have to do *that*.

And a nuke on US soil? WTF? I'm not going to support a show that seems hell bent on "preparing us to accept" that this will happen in the US. No thanks.

I see enough anti-US bias in the news every day, I don't want it in my entertainment too.

Yet another show that has jumped the shark... :/
