One Mom, Three Boys, One Tent

I am off for the weekend. I leave at 9:30AM to take my three boys camping.

Me.

Three boys.

One tent.

On an island.

Pray for no rain. Cool weather. Not many mosquitos.

And pray for my sanity. It appears there is going to be fishing involved. A lot of fishing. I don't do fishing, yet there are three rods in my mini-van. I don't touch live fish. I only touch the dead ones and then its with a fork and my lips.

It's all about the snacks... we have lots of snacks. Fish are not part of the snacks. Chocolate is.

Stories on Sunday. I'm sure...

I'll so trade you. I'll go fishing with the boys and even touch the worms and the fish if you come spend the weekend here with my mother.

And pack the bug spray!! Y'all have fun!

And just for the record - you are soooooooo much braver than I am - I would have never had the guts to "camp" in Florida. Give me grizzly bears over snakes, bugs and gators any day...

Are there 'bathrooms'? You might get me out there if there are clean bathrooms around and running water. ;-) Haven't seen many mosquitoes. Lots of lovebugs, but not mosquitoes. Good luck!

But what about Sir Isaac? Don't you think he would love camping, too? Oh wait, wasn't he a show dog? Ha! He and I probably have the same idea of what constitutes 'roughing it'. That's staying in a hotel with exposed beams in the ceiling and no wi-fi connection.

Hope you have a great time!

Kathryn

I'm with you on the fish thing although I gotta tell you that I might make an exception for Mangrove Red Snapper. I have only been able to get it down there and it is my FAVORITE!!!

Have a great time!

If Bou's going where I think she is, there are no snakes or gators. But the skeeters and no-see-um's are legendary and they start biting around dusk. I hope it's a windy weekend to blow them away from the campground.

And yes, this is an "improved" campground, with regular bathrooms. I think they even have showers.

And I think she could take the dog if she wanted, as long as it's on a leash.
