No Post Becomes a Post

Well because I do not have time to blog and because... well... life is life... I give you this quiz. I saw it at VW's today. VW who is absolutely insane. (I sense this is turning into a post, don't you?)

She's got two little guys, ages 3 and 4. She wanted to sign them up for Vacation Bible School at a local church we send our children to preschool. (Bones went there.) They would not take her youngest, Tot, unless she worked it.

So.

She signed up for stage hand or something behind the scenes.

And they made her something like 'team leader', which equates to, she gets lots of children to lead.

VW and I did not score this same on this quiz, but rest assured, her personality and mine are not that different in that we are not into the whole 'kid' thing. Neither of us picked teaching as a profession FOR A REASON. We are both engineering types. Short patience for illogical and irrational people... where children often reign most.

So she told me this bit of news about the new job title and I think my response was either a burst of laughter or a raised eyebrow and a 'REAAAAALLY'. Or both.

And then I said, "Yeah, well, good luck with that. Large quantities of small children scare me..." to which she replied, "Me too!"

Heh. Yet, she's doing it. I'm figuring there are going to be BIG stories out this. BIG.

Folks, I know some of you rag on me about how much I volunteer and all the irons I have in the fire, but let me make it perfectly clear... man o man, I do not volunteer with the kiddies.

Oh. No. No. No. NO. Good Grief. No. Heh.

You scored as Albus Dumbledore, Strong and powerful you admirably defend your world and your charges against those who would seek to harm them. However sometimes you can fail to do what you must because you care too much to cause suffering.

I am Ron Weasley. Somehow, I'm not surprised. I figured myself for more of a Hermione, but that came in second.

They gave me two 1st graders, 1 kindergartener and 2 4th graders. I could have handled it if it was all older kids. The younger ones are going to make me f'in insane. If that one kid keeps touching me I swear I'm going to cut his hands off. He wants me to hold his hand as we walk between activities, he keeps coming up behind me and touching my back. and the list goes on. Definitely blog fodder... but at the end of the day, I just curl up with a book and disappear. I have to get ready for the next day. BUT... Tot LOVES it. He wants to go in the mornings. SIGH. Otherwise, I swear I would have quit last night.

You scored as a Hermione Granger- 80%
You're one intelligent witch, but you have a hard time believing it and require constant reassurance. You are a very supportive friend who would do anything and everything to help her friends out.

VW: Good luck with that! We participated in a co-op preschool when our oldest boy was that age. A lot of work it was! It is essential that you show up for every meeting, because if you don't guess who gets stuck heading up the fundraising committee and selling candles nobody wants in the pouring rain? Not to mention, you automatically are earmarked for parking lot cleanup and year-end-strip-the-classroom-and-sanitize-everything duty!

Another cautionary bit of advice: if you use your vehicle to take kids on field trips, identify the nose-pickers in advance and let someone else take them.

On a positive note, you are providing your kids with long-standing friends. My son will graduate next week. I can't believe how many of his friends who are graduating with him date all the way back to preschool! And that really is something!
