Living with Blogs and a Teenager

I know I post on Ringo a lot and the stresses of our almost 13 year old to 42 year old relationship.

Just so y'all know... he reads me. He is my biggest fan. The Christmas Tree and Pancake story? He read it out loud, imitating Bones and all that Bones said about the green pancakes and chocolate chips, the dialogue, and Ringo did it with all the hand motions that Bones uses, that y'all are unfortunately not privy too.

Bones is funny in dialogue, but to see him in his full demonstrative mode is absolutely classic.

And so Ringo was imitating him and he and I got to laughing so hard we were both crying.

I never want to put anything out that will embarrass him. He's going to be a teenager, so I'm pretty open about what I put about him... and we laugh.

... and he even knows about the hand puppet post.

He's so daggum funny... but I am aware, that as he gets older, I will blog on him less and less. Right now its funny, but we are approaching a time, when it will not be. There is already much I leave out... but as he turns into a man, there will be more.

As of now, its all fun and games... what a great kid... when we aren't making each other nuts.

Warning: This comes from having my own teenage sons read my blog to see what I post about them.

Post about them often enough that they don't start purposely creating blog fodder for you.

I ran into that. They ask me, "Posted anything about me lately?" If I said no, then it was, "Need blog fodder?" My boys love that I write about them and they enjoy reading it.

Do you ever long for anonymity? :)

Big fusses at me if I don't post enough. I think its cool that our kids think what we do has merit.

self censorship began when my step-daughter started reading my blog. Funny how that works!

Sticks- Funny you should say that... he said to me yesterday, "Hey, did you blog that Christmas tree thing?" I finally confessed that I did and he said, 'OH! I HAVE to read it!' It was funny. But... i will keep that in mind. I don't need them CREATING blog fodder. The fodder that just happens is stressful enough...

Pam- Ahh... well... that is a post in itself now. Heh. I'm cool with it. I am..

Sugar- I agree. I like that he thinks what I do has merit, because there are times I think he feels, I most definitely don't. ;-)

Writersblock- Oh, yes. He doesn't read consistently, but... there are certain things I'd have to be more careful about. Heh. Honestly, he doesn't seek me out. He will ask if I've blogged on them, and if I say yes, I show him the posts. There is some things kids just don't need to know about their folks. Heh.
