Camping with Sick Dogs

Well, it's official. I'm sick as a big dog. I've been fighting it for three days, but today, a couple hours ago, my body finally succumbed.

It pisses me off.

I haven't been sick in 4 years. I just blew my record. I think its not a coincidence that I quit running the first of November and now I'm sick. I never got sick when I was running. Dammit.

The stress for the last couple months, the lack of sleep, and the vast quantity of people I was around this weekend didn't help.

And I'm taking the boys camping tomorrow. The weather should hold up... I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My husband and eldest are staying behind for the first night. The camping trip was planned to start on the night of a Middle School dance.

One does not miss a Middle School dance.

So I'll set up camp and then they'll join us Saturday morning.

Hey, I'm all about the life experience. This weekend could definitely make the 'life experience' category.

More on Sunday... the weather should hold up, but the guys at work have decided since I'm going camping, they should think about canceling their golf games.

Funny guys... Heh.

Will you be home in time for the super bowl???

Of course! I have to watch Eli Manning... if nothing more than for remembering the following conversation:

Mo and Mom were on the couch. A commercial came on and I said, "Who is that?" and they did a collective *blink* and said, "Ummm... Peyton Manning..." and I said, "REALLY? I always thought he was black."

To which they both just stared at me...

Walter Payton... Peyton Manning. They're all the same to me.

Eli Manning... didn't he invent the cotton gin?

One word: Zicam.

Also, being out of doors always makes me feel better when I'm sick, hope it works for you as well.

T1G- EXACTLY!!! You get how my mind works. Its a very very simple machine... I'm a bear with a very simple brain. :)

Pam- I bought some the other day. DO NOT get the cinnamon chewables. I'm trying to decide whether to take it or just to go outside and find something foul on the ground to eat instead. It leaves this rancid chalky taste in your mouth and then the directions say, "Don't drink for 15 minutes." Right. I thought, "Screw that..." I had to get that taste out. Good Lord. Blech. It gets stuck in your teeth, along your gum line, under the tongue... Gah!

Sorry you aren't feeling well. I swear by Airborne - no chalky aftertaste and you do drink it anyway.

Oh - came here thru Lex. Great site!

... ouch!... get well soon, Bou.... and have fun camping!...

If the zinc stuff tastes bad it means you don't need it! People who are low on zinc don't taste the bad taste at all. You could try a different flavor, but if it still tastes bad then that's not your problem.

What are some of the others? Airborne and Emergent-C or something like that. Water dissolving vitamins that work well together (I think they taste hideous too...)

Anyhow, sorry you're sick. And may your camp stay dry. :-)

Camping while sick, sounds interesting.

But I have to ask, is this real camping or fake camping?

Get well soon!
