Like Mary Poppins' Carpet Bag... But Not

It’s been a crazy frickin’ week. I’ve been all over the place transporting children, working, volunteering at the school.

I opened the back hatch of the asexual Mom-mobile today and found the following:

A folding chair (to watch Bones play Lacrosse)

A huge amplifier complete with Monster 50 foot cord (band practice)

One bass guitar

One trombone

A year’s box of receipts, by month, for the school (audit last week)

And one cup and jock strap (clean… from yesterday’s comment to Bones, “Just throw it in the car and take it up with your coach”. He took it literally.)

I think it is obvious I am a boy Mom.

Anything odd in your car???

Hmmm... only 2 pair of broken sunglasses. One pair ear muffs. 2 pair winter gloves. One phone charger for a phone I no longer have. One charger for the current phone. A wall charger for my ipod. The bean bag thing for the garmin to sit on (the garmin is not in the car). Two large map books of the area which I can't use while driving. Two reusable shopping bags from the grocery store. Assorted change. One ring that had 6 little blue stones in it, but now has 5 and so I don't wear it anymore. Lots of napkins in the side door panel. A travel pillow.

Not much.

I have a pressure cooker in my trunk.

Oops - forgot the 2 headsets for a previous phone that don't work with my current phone, 1 tiny bottle of hand sanitizer and 2 bottles of water partially frozen.

Teresa- OK, what's with the WALL charger for your iPod? That won't work in your car. And do they sell Garmin beanbags???

Tina- So... this in case you just have the urge to cook someone a pot roast for 8 hours? ;-) I take it you took food somewhere...

I"m kind of laughing at the partially frozen water bottles, Teresa. I just don't... relate. All the water bottles in my car are at 78 deg...

Just not going there... ;-)

Are you kidding?

I am married to the Mr Clean of the car World. He actually cleans under the hood every spring.

Car Salesmen have claimed that they could eat off any surface in our cars.

I am not allowed to keep a messy car, I get repremanded for it.

I have change, sunglasses and a tube of lipstick oh and doggie poop bags (unused).

QW- Oh that's how my HUSBAND'S car is... completely brand new looking and smelling even after its 10 years old, Mr. Clean, spotfree. My car? NOPE. I think he's afraid to give me any crap about it. ;-)

Before we take long trips, though, when I know he's going to drive, I spend a few hours cleaning and vacuuming. Other than that... nope.

Power rangers, a Nintendo DS game, a partially frozen water bottle, 2 hair scrunchies, and snacks . . . we always have snacks . . . also my lace up fire boots, a helmet, a blue light, a fire police coat, goggles, a road flare, two flashlights, a packed first aid kit and a change of clothes and a blanket!

Funny thing, Oddy, when I wrote this post I thought, "Oddy is going to beat me in this." The slow cooker almost beat you out, however. So did the iPod wall charger. *blink* But its all the fire gear that ultimately wins. The flares.... my boys would so love your car.

Let's see - I'm pretty good at keeping the car and trunk clean of anything other than necessities (tools, automotive fluids, etc). Now my armrest compartment- full of screws, old receipts and bank statements, notepads and possibly a pen (I can never find it when I need it), and a racy note from the wife dating back to the "let's spice up things" days. Oops, that last one was TMI.

LOL - well, I have this little Eagle zip travel bag. I put all my chargers and wire stuff in it whenever possible (except for the head sets and the old phone charger which are in the back seat and I'll eventually remember to get them out... someday). So I drag it between the car and the house. Since I never use the wall charger unless I'm traveling - it lives in that bag with the hope I wont' lose it that way. If I put it away in the house to keep it safe - I'll never find it again.

Got the garmin bean bag at the same time I got the garmin from Amazon. When I want to use the garmin, it sits on my dash, when I don't use it, it sits on the floor - no little "O" rings on my windshield.

Of course Oddy has us all beat with the fire equipment. LOL. All my "stuff" is small. I don't carry much kid stuff and since I work on computers, I don't leave them laying around in the car. *grin*

Since the kids left home, the only odd thing in my car is ... me.
