Random Thoughts on Society and Life

Am I the only person in America that had not heard of Rihanna before it became public that some guy I'd not heard of named Chris, had decided to beat her?

No clue who these people were.

None.

But I know now.

Here's my quick take... he's not remorseful... he's only remorseful that he got caught and that his career, whatever the hell it was, is taking a dive because he beat a woman.

And his career is ONLY taking a dive because he beat this chick Rihanna. If it had been any other woman, the press would have turned a blind eye and Chris the dickhead would not be remorseful.

Also, I had to wonder if Chris the f***head witnessed this particular behavior pattern from his father or from some man his mother was with... if his folks aren't still married.

His parents must be so proud... in particular if they taught him this behavior.

Mr. T asked me to correct yesterday's story regarding the Chinese man being executed.

His actual statement was along the lines of a cannibal and a Chinese man were both to be executed and they executed the Chinese man first and the cannibal asked for Chinese food as his last supper.

You know... we had to get that cleared up, because what I put yesterday was just NOT ghastly enough.

We had to clarify the ghastliness of it all.

We are having lay offs at work. So far I am fine.

Here's my beef.

We are laying off because the work is being sent to subcontractors overseas instead of subcontractors in the US, which normally you might think, "Hey, who cares?" except this is National Defense work and it bothers me on a very deep level that work being done on a very modern aircraft that is a very important part of our air superiority is being done by folks who are not Americans.

And being done poorly. There are a lot of redos...

So... you know that joke about the great comfort the US military pilot must take in knowing that his ejection seat and airplane were built and manufactured by the lowest bidders?

He can now take solace in the fact that all after market work is being done by the lowest bidder NOT in America.

Love that.

Enough said.

My dryer broke after drying the fourth load of laundry today and with a wet load in the washing machine.

Not happy.

------------------------

I have pictures of the Great Flambina to post, but have not had the time yet. She is just as yummy and smoochilious and I see her next week.

GRRR... I cannot wait.

I liked my hair better in Colorado.

I officially have a toenail fungus due to the problems I had with the marathon. Any suggestions on this Vicks Vapor Rub cure? Can you do it if the toe doesn't have a toenail?

I will spare the gruesome story...

I'm so damn attractive, I scare myself sometimes.
----------------------------------------

I'm exhausted...
-------------------------------

On Saturday I'm meeting some women I trained with and taking my first foray back into cardio exercise since the marathon.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

At least there was no drahr fahr, eh?

Posted by: Elisson at February 19, 2009 11:59 PM

Elisson had to say it didn't he... LOL.

No I have no idea who either of those people are, still don't, and have no intention of finding out. Heh.

Gotta love that lowest bidder thing...makes you feel all safe and secure now doesn't it. *sigh*

Toenail fungus... call the doc, I think your poor feet have been through enough experimentation. ;-)

Elisson- I was WONDERING if anyone was going to say something about a drahr fahr!

(For those readers who don't know the story, a group of us were in TN and were awakened at some God awful time in the morning by the fire alarm. We were told by the heavily Southern Accented woman at the hotel that it was a 'drahr fahr').

Teresa- Experimentation. Heh. That had me LOL!

I'd never heard of Chris or Rihanna either, until I heard they missed being on national TV at the Grammy's because he decided jail would be more fun. See today's editorial page for a column on the subject.

Sorry to hear about the layoffs. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I keep hearing about how being laid off should be an "opportunity," but I haven't seen that side of it yet.

As a taxpayer, I'm happy to see our government is trying to save money, but not at the expense of American workers. With so many Americans out of work, it's obscene to send our tax money and jobs overseas.

I can't wait to see the Great Flambina. I'll be in Atlanta in March and I will beg and plead to see her - beg and plead. Meanwhile, chatted with Ringo on Facebook (need another set of eyes? I got yer back). . . he thinks I rawk :) Nice to know not all teens think I am totally uncool. But seriously? It's only because I listen to Slipknot, Avenge Sevenfold and Shinedown among others. . . ;)

The only thing that bothers me about Chris and Rihanna is that I have heard more about that story then the story of the Muslim TV CEO that beheaded his wife because she wanted a divorce (in New York not some Middle East country). You would think that murder would gather more news then a drunk beating his girlfriend. But they probably do not want to upset the Muslims by reporting that incident.

Sounds like you had a morning like I'm having this morning.

Chris & Rhianna? Nope, doesn't ring a bell.

Outsourcing aircraft work? Have they lost their forking minds? How the hell do they think the United States got their well-deserved reputation for aircraft quality and safety? I'm waiting for our air safety to go seriously downhill because of the outsourced mainenance. Why would some foreign low-wage worker give a crap about our quality standards? Yes, this subject burns me.

Went through the dryer thing a couple of weeks ago. Replaced dead dryer and dying washer for $175 via local ad on Craigslist. Drahr fahr, huh? Only in the South.

And I beat you to the baby pictures.

Posted by: diamond dave at February 20, 2009 12:21 PM

Please don't say they are outsourcing to the Chinese?

Good god, the chinese can't build crap. The auto industry has been outsourcing to China for a few years now and everything that we got back had to be sent out to a nearby firm to have the thing rebuilt. Every.single.time.

The defense contrator in our area is hiring big time, but most of the jobs have a requirement of being deployed to Iraq at some time helping out with tank problems in country.

How 'bout that stimulus package, huh?

I had a fungal infection crop up between my fingers over the holidays...too much baking and dishwashing and not enough hand drying.

My sister suggested simply pouring peroxide over the infected area two or three times a day and keeping it as dry as possible.

The infection cleared in three or four days and an antibiotic ointment applied before bedtime healed the scabbed remnants in another couple of days.

Chris and Rihanna? Not a freaking clue.

And lets not forget that when we had the drahr fahr I was on the second floor.

Elisson showed me a picture of Morrigan in the hospital. She was still glowing. Am I gonna get to see Flambina when you come up?

Posted by: Denny at February 20, 2009 02:59 PM

Chris Brown's step-father has been convicted or charged with abuse. He set the example.

I think I saw a poster in my podiatrist talking about a pill you could take to get rid of the fungus. It had horrible pictures.

George- I just got home and will open the paper.

The lay offs piss me off because we're sending our National Defense overseas. You would think at least THAT would be sacred. Its not. Its all cost...

Oddy- He came in and said he'd talked to you and that y'all listened to the same music. It was really funny. Little does he know, I've got a whole frickin' village watching after him!

Mike- You are ABSOLUTELY right. That's disgusting. But its all fame. Like I said, if the woman he beat was an unknown to society (other than me!) it would have been a blip on page 7. Given it was just a plain old Muslim woman... not going to make the grade for news. Hell, Muslim women are abused and killed all over the world. Why not America?

DDave- Oh don't get me started on overseas quality of work and what I see coming down the pike, not to mention it bothers me that we would/could out source work to countries with the potential for terrorists. (I need to stop by your blog and see the baby pix!) Oh and we replaced the heating element. I hope we're good for another 5 years...

QW-Its not just the Chinese. Its other countries too... some that begin with I and end in A and some that begin with P and end with an O.

Omnibus- Did you see the top 11 world wide expensive tragedies? It had Chernobyl, the Challenger, the Titanic and on and on and #1 was Obama's stimulus package. Very funny.

Pam- I tried rubbing alcohol, but I think Peroxide 3X a day would do it too. I'm so irritated with this foot situation.

Denny- I hope so! I will talk to Mo.

Amy- Chris' father must be aghast to see his son turn into a dirtbag by watching his stepfather.
