Swamped.
Treading water.
I'm working every waking hour the kids are in school... trying to stay afloat...my house is a wreck, laundry is piling up, all the things I used to do when I only worked 10-15 hours a week aren't getting done.
Tired.
Race weekend is next week. I leave Friday morning. Maybe I'll sleep all weekend... wake up, run 13.1 miles, and then go back to the hotel to sleep until my flight leaves.
More tomorrow...
But on a quick sidenote, we had an open house for Ringo at his High School. My husband and I attended and... I love his teachers. I want to take his classes. I want to see what was missing from my high school education or learn it all again.
I was so excited for him when we left. He has some fantastic teachers... if he pays attention and stays organized, he is going to learn so much... and will be so ready for college.
Enthusiastic. Professional. Organized. EXCITED to be teaching young minds.
I have hope.

Posted by: Toluca Nole at August 27, 2009 09:21 PMOh! That kid said hello to him today! I said, "Whoa! What was that about?" Ringo smirked and said, "I don't know. Maybe I should feel honored..." Heh.
Posted by: Bou at August 27, 2009 09:51 PMHi, Bou. Here by way of Denny's site. (Brilliant rant on "sin tax", btw... couldn't agree more!)
I see you're going to do a half-marathon in about a week. Wonder if it's the same one Mr. Mo K. is doing at VA Beach? This will be his second one ever (first one was in Fredericksburg last May under rainy cold conditions, and there are hills -- I understand VA Beach is less brutal with a flat course). He's lost a lot of the weight over the year, and I'm so proud of him! I'll be playing cheerleader, as usual :-)
Anyway, I'll be sending positive vibes to ya for a satisfying time, whether we're at the same one or not. Good luck!
Mo K- That's the one! I'm doing it for Team in Training for Leukemia Lymphoma. I, however, have not lost any weight! I am blaming it on my being a woman. My husband blames it on there isn't much left to cut in my diet! I refuse to give up chocolate still... :) This is my 2nd as well... I did the full in January at Disney and have 3 more planned for this year. (I'm actually going to focus on dropping some vanity weight...) Disney was just hot by 10:00. Blech. But VA Beach is supposed to be flat and fast!
And good for Mr. Mo K!!! It is a lot of work training for these events. A lot of work. And the fact he's lost weight... that is a HUGE lifestyle change. I hope he realizes what he's done... He's done some big stuff for himself.
Posted by: Bou at August 28, 2009 05:34 AMHeck, he's not mine yet your description of the teacher gave *me* hope!
LOL @ TN!
Posted by: Pam at August 28, 2009 07:19 AMTime to teach your boys how to do laundry... really. My son started doing his own in 7th grade - didn't want to wait for his dad to do it ;-) Anyhow, it's an excellent life skill for them and takes some of the stress off you!
I'm very happy to hear that Ringo's school! I've got everything crossed that this is a banner year for him!
Posted by: Teresa at August 28, 2009 03:07 PMLooks like I can't finish sentences. I'm very glad to hear that Ringo's school is so awesome! Is what it should read. LOL.
Posted by: Teresa at August 28, 2009 03:08 PMTeresa- My son knows and does laundry. The problem is... we're just never home right now. We're trying to find some groove and it's not happening yet.
Posted by: Bou at August 28, 2009 05:05 PMHa! What you need is a wife. ;-)
Posted by: Teresa at August 28, 2009 11:40 PMThat's exactly what I need. I think I said something similarly to my husband last night.
