Waiting for Saturday

There is much going on here, both at home and at work. I am not catching a break anywhere. I got home tonight for the first time at 9:00PM... I'd left at 6:30AM.

My Tech Lead is out, I'm the 'boss lady' according to the guys, and the screws have been tightened.

Sleep is unobtainable, the nightmares are back and my silver lining is that at least my nightmares are steeped in sorting through benign crap in my head and not of any real horrors that played themselves in real time in my real life.

Then of course there is the visit I had last night. I'm not sure who he was or what my mind was doing... but it is bothering me on a deep level and will probably make sleep that much more difficult tonight.

I confided in it of a friend today who said to me, 'Your home is new... it shouldn't be haunted.'

True, that. But nevertheless, it occurred and perhaps I'm hoping that just by putting it out here... it won't happen again.

As if the other sh** I dream about at night, when I can sleep, is not bad enough...

Blogging will resume when the stress levels come down. Expect Saturday... ish.

I'll be seeing the Great Flambina then. The smell of a baby, the sound of their tiny voice, the touch of their soft skin... can make it all go away.

Saturday.

My last two houses had ghosts. One was new as well.

My last dream had Obama in it. It was weird. We were in this fancy stable, full of llamas, and I saw him hiding in one of the stalls. He was smoking weed and he told me to be quiet because he didn't want Michelle or his secret service people to find him.

Oddly enough, my mom also had a dream about him. She said she was with a group on a tour of the White House and she ended up in a corridor away from the others and nobody stopped her. She asked Malia for directions so she could leave, and when she turned to go Obama was standing there. She said his ears were comically enormous, and she said, "Oh my, your ears really ARE huge!"

That's what passes for dreams around here. :)

I have come to believe over the last couple of weeks that David Allen (Getting Thing Done) is 100% right... it's the minutiae of life that will drive one over the edge. All those niggling details we try to keep in our head and are afraid we'll forget... they come back to haunt us in our sleep. (I think you've grown a full fledged niggle monster).

It's never the big stuff... we aren't allowed to forget the big things. It's the little crap that takes up space and pops up at the freaking wrong time.

Only a day and a half until Saturday... hang in there! Give the Flambina a big smooch for me on the back of her neck.
