From Dork to Viking in a Few Clicks

It's been hectic here, I have a moody teenager in the house and it's kind of bringing me down, and I wasn't going to blog.

Until.

I was surfing the blogs and came to El Capitan's at Baboon Pirates and saw some photoshopping and I cannot quit laughing.

Holy crap.

I became a Viking.

A little background, I have met El Capitan a couple times, this latest at the Hysterics at Eric's this past October. El Capitan is the greatest guy. He has a great sense of humor, a wonderful heart, and a quick mind. And he has a rule... if you put a photo on your blog, it's fair game for photoshopping.

That completely escaped me when I wrote that decade in review post. Completely did not cross my mind... at all.

Now on an unrelated side note, when I bought those horrible black rubber boots, I absolutely was not using logic. All I thought was that I couldn't use my running shoes for hurricane yard clean up as they'd get mushy (lots of water) and dirty (lots of dirt).

What I didn't think was... hurricanes happen in the summer, it is 100 degrees during clean up... and black rubber boots are STUPID.

Holy crap. I thought my feet would fry right then and there.

Moral of the story: When buying rubber work boots in FL, buy WHITE. I just thought the white looked so stupid. And that's a FIRST that I would think any fashionable thought AT ALL, let alone try to relate fashion to rubber work boots.

Good grief.

There truly is not hope.

And I ended up with that truly sexy outfit. Nothing screams red hot Mama like running shorts and black rubber boots and a rake.

Hey, but El Capitan fixed that! He made me a Viking Warrior! Woo hooo!

Go see...

It is an honor to get shopped by El Cap.

You have been upgraded to the Víkingur Henda á lofti Keisaraynja.

Have a good day...

Forget boots. I bought a $15 pair of sneakers at KMart 10 years ago to mow the yard with and do other dirty chores. They're so mucky, they stay in the garage when I'm not wearing them. But they're still comfortable after all these years.

Hilarious. What amazes me -- beyond the fact that a Viking get-up looks so RIGHT on you -- is that someone snapped a photo of you, the Mom. I believe I have a total of only three photos of me, all taken by my mother, as my husband and sons never even consider pointing the camera my way and I feel like such a Paris Hilton if I ask them to take a picture of me. (BTW: It was such a treat to see you today at Helicopter Parent's Mecca. Crossing fingers that our two drama kings make it so that it won't be another half-decade before I see you again. Now that I have your blog I.D., I'll check in on you and say hello). Good luck to him!

You look good with a rake!

Oh, and the boots, they're pretty cool too.

You make a very convincing Viking :D

That is awesome. I'd like a case of whatever you are drinking for my girlfriend.

He just did a fantastic job. I do need to find a way to put it on my blog, with a link to give him credit. What a riot...

George- I did boots for fireant prevention. I did use SOME logic. I had some flooding I had to stomp through and I figured if there were fireants in the water, the boots would be better.

Leigh- Good Lord it was good to see you today! A friendly face in the sea of parents... I just had no clue. I had NO CLUE. I don't think I've ever been such a prayer warrior. I so want our boys to get in!

Curtis- Hey, I didn't always live down here in S.FL! I used to live in places with trees where we raked leaves. It's just been so dang long...

I've got the Ride of the Valkyries running through my head.

Ooh! Where is your longboat with the dragon head and all that stuff? I read somewhere where some guy made one out of popsicle sticks - and it worked! Put Bones on it!

Glad you enjoyed it! Next time at Eric's we'll load you down with some of his sharp pointy things and Viking-ize you without the aid of Photoshop!
