Dear Dad

I found this at Patti's over at Good Googledy Moogledies, a GREAT read. Oh wait until Christmas when she posts pictures of her great decorated house! (She laments her garden a bit today, but I love it.)

So... I had to steal this link from her.

For my Dad.

Dear Dad,

You are going to watch this and think, "WTF?" Why is my daughter posting this FOR ME?" (Well, you may not think "WTF?", but it will be similar.)

But like... halfway through it? You'll get it. Plus... dang, how can you pass up marching bands and ghillie suits? I mean, really? If this doesn't make you and Mom laugh, all hope is lost.

Your favorite Daughter.

P.S. Yes, OK Go is a real band. No, I didn't expect you to have heard of them before... and no, they aren't a marching band.

Who doesn't like men in ghillie suits and kids with streamers? Good stuff.

Is that not a riot? Every time the ghillie guys popped up, I started to laugh! Really loud! And then the little signs popped up that said "this too shall pass" and I knew you had to see it. It would have only been better if there had been a second set of signs that said ,"people are no damn good".

The four ill-dressed band members are OK-GO.

The rest are the real Notre Dame Marching Band.

They also have another version of this which involves a Rube Goldberg device built in a warehouse. The OK-GO band members get paint splattered at the end.

OK GO's video's are the best. They always come up with something original.

I didn't know what marching band that was. I did know the four were OK Go. What a riot, they're so creative. I had seen them with this song over at Elisson's, but it was to the Rube whatshisname theme. That was very cool too.

Angus is right. The ghillie suits are not normal Notre Dame band uniforms.

They also do a song called 'do over'... The words I find are very poignant.

I'm sending this to my son. I can see the wheels turning in his head now.

Wow! Thanks Bou!

I thought it was a true riot myself, the ghillies just cracked me up.

That was great! It's the USMC in spades. hiding sneaking peeking blowing the doors off and marching magnificently all at one go.

I love them - I've seen the other one with the Rube Goldberg machine - it's a riot.

But I think my favorite will always be "Here We Go Again" on the treadmills... just a brilliant bit of music vid. LOL.
