Not the Normal Monday Night Football

T called that game last night... off by only four points. He thought it would be 42-10.

The kid missed it by a field goal vs. a touchdown.

Two weeks ago when he told me this score I said, "That's pretty big, son. Where did you come up with numbers like that?" and he went into this big analysis of pound per pound of linemen against linemen, who rushed how much, how they did in past games, what their schedules looked like.

It was nuts. And he was off by four points.

But when it's the Gators, he goes into this statistical fog. Too much emotion.

I didn't watch the game last night. I'm over football. I'll talk about it, but I can't sit and watch it. I have too much in my head I have to work through.

So I walked into work today and said to my boss, "Did you watch the game?" and he said, "You know it's a boring game when the sports commentators start talking about the QB's girlfriend."

I had not heard about that at all. What a riot!

I was watching the game at the time (although I didn't watch the whole game) and I saw that bit. Within a couple of minutes Deadspin had posted it and tweeted... then twitter just exploded. The commentary was hilarious.

Way more fun to watch twitter than to watch the game. LOL.

The 'Gators and 'Noles thing is special in Florida. Like the Longhorns and Sooners game in Texas, if you've got skin in the game, it's a big deal. Very cool that he could call a game that close that far out. He really should consider engineering. Or theoretical mathematics.

Yeah, some of the chatter I've read mentioned that the game was so boring the chatter about the QBs girlfriend was more exciting. I think my son was for 'Bama in that one.

I'm still up for football, I'll watch this weekend to see how the Patriots do and then we'll watch the Stuporbowl. But, we watch pro ball while my son watches only college ball. He may well be done for the season as well.

They showed it on The View yesterday (on in the background while I ate lunch). Hilarious!
