My mom and sister are in town for Ringo's graduation. My sister brought her eldest daughter with her, who is now four. We are all having a blast.

We've not had a little person in this house for a long long time. She is sleeping in Bones' room and Bones shifted into Ringo's.

I have steps next to my bed since my bed is so high up and I struggle to get in.

So this morning at 7AM, I heard a slight pitter patter and I could feel the air in the room shift. I slowly opened my eyes, and near the foot of my bed stood a little girl, completely wide eyed.

As soon as I awoke, she grinned and said, "MMMM!"

Then she climbed up on the steps and stood there peering over the bed. My husband woke up and waved at her.

It was so damn funny.

I got out of bed to get her breakfast and find her something to play with. My sister, hearing we were up, came out to take her. I went back to bed and my husband laughed and said, "I don't remember the last time we were awakened by a little person..."

It has been so long... but it feels like just yesterday, my 3 year old Ringo would stand peering into my sleeping face, so when I awoke, his eyes were 2 inches from mine, and his gutteral voice would yell, "MUFFIN PLEASE!"

It goes so fast. In reality... that was 15 years ago.

Oh goodness.....I initially read that your niece was peeing on the bed, rather than peering over the much happier.

Spent a long weekend with my grand daughter who thinks that I don't wear underwear...why? I have no idea. We went to mass yesterday and she pulled out a hymnal and starting singing "Mary had a little lamb"....good, good times

Doesn't that make your ovaries ache?

Good lord...shut the door!

Fortunately, all my families' kids are grown now. But privacy still matter who is in the house.

That would totally freak me out to wake up with someone's face in my face in bed. Aaaaghhhh!!

Mine still haul me out of bed so I can feed them breakfast. I must be doing something wrong!

Was just retelling my 17 year old 6' 2'' nephew the other night that from the age of 3 he'd come stay with us often and would be told by his Mum to be on his best manners at Uncle Mikey and Aunty Shaz's house so would stand at the end of our bed and yell "EXCUSE ME" at the top of his lungs if he needed us during the night. Used to scare the stuffing out of me!! LOL

In cases like what you described, we normally scream and pull the covers over our heads. When the "offending party" draws closer to wonder if the two adults in the house lost their minds, one of us grabs them and pulls them under the covers with us, often to suffer the fate of being mercilessly tickled. Even the almost-twelve year old nephew still gets victimized by this, at least until he grows a little more to the point where I can't physically overpower him anymore...
